Hi folks,

We have confirmed with the Association that we will be hosting the October round of the National Offshore Series. Will be on Henley Lake, Masterton at our venue.

We will be asking for help in the running of the event.

Will post the entry form in due course.

Locally we are still running our normal four championships, Open Oval, Cats, Crackerboxes and Offshore.

We have now started a new class which is called the 'Petal Class' This is for new members of the club so they can get to learn to drive and allows them to become confidant to be able to compete (in due course) with faster boats without feeling intimidated. Also, we have members who simply want to come down, help to run our meetings and enjoy the company. It gives them time on the water with a purpose. Also allows for members of the club with more experience to be able to guide and help them. The races are 5 laps around the oval course with whatever boats they have.

The crackerbox class is becoming a favourite event. A new boat is being built and when on the water will give us 8 crackerboxes in the club. They are a lot of fun, unpredictable and with the 8 on the water will be so so good. We have the Dumas and Zippkit wooden boats and fibreglass hulls. All with the stock 26cc Zenoahs. Some of them are faster than others in different conditions but with crackerboxes, its not always the fastest boat that wins. Survival is the name of the game.

Take care, and we will see some of you in October.
