MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES;

1. Scrutineering
Peters trial did not eventuate as the weather forced cancelation of his regatta.
Suggest we contact Bob Gutsell/Matt Bindon to see if they wish to trial Peters suggestion.

2. Crackerbox rules

3. The committee agrees to alter our rule to align with both American organisations re hull dimensions to allow those wishing to build available kits to compete legally.GH to draft and post on website for 6 week consultation.

Do we implement new rules for this year or start beginning of next year?

Proposed we announce it at the AGM for discussion with the view to implementing from 1 January 2019 Regarding modification to Offshore points.

1. Hi Committee
I just wanted to question the format that the Wairarapa club is running for offshore events. They are apparently running 2 x 30 min heats and 1 x 1 hour. The offshore high points series format states;

Format • 2 or 3 X Heats, not less than 10 minutes and no more than 20 minutes each. • 1 X 20 to 60 Minute major race.

Should it not be that regattas are run according to the rules etc. as set out? If a club decides to suit themselves as to what they want to do regardless of the set rules, then either all rules are up for changing at will, or the regatta is non compliant and therefore voids series eligibility.
Can the committee please confirm what is the acceptable format and inform the membership please.
PS. I raised this point at the BOP regatta when I realised that a 30 min race had been advertised and it was adjusted on the day to conform with the rule.

The committee discussed the issue raised regarding Wairarapa Clubs 2 x 30 minute heats followed by a 1 hour final.
Their findings are that Wairarapa applied to the 2015/16 NZMPBA Committee to run 2 X 30 minute heats and was approved by them and was obviously omitted from the rules when they got redrafted.
Wairarapa have always run the 2 X 30 minute heat format since then.

therefore the 30 minute heats will stand and the current rules will be amended to show this.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Electric SAW back/up rule. Rescind current B/up rule and require a B/up run when using stop watches. ( given advances with battery technology).

3. RULE BOOK is a shambles and needs sorting especially downloads on web site

Peter has successfully downloaded off web site so Nitro can up date.

DISCUSSION
Peter and Nitro will have the web site rule book cleaned up by next committee meeting.

Offshore rules
A review is pending on a tweak of the rules regarding things that are not being done properly or can be dispensed with at regattas.
