Hi Nitro,
Just a few things on behalf of the BOP Club to take care of please....
1> Assuming you are coming up for the NZ # 2 Offshore here Sat 21st April and doing the Lakes Oval Races the day after at Mangakino, could you please bring the 2 lap timing stuff with you so we can have a good look at it / measure up so we can work on getting our venue sorted ready to use that technology for 2 Lappers later in the year ?
2> I attach a copy of the BOP Calender, the NZ Calender needs revising with a couple of things...
Our Teams Enduro is 13th October, not July
The NZ Calender has also put the 2-laps in for two days in August 11-12, we have only scheduled Saturday, perhaps it can be two days if the timing system is sorted and people are available / interested in 2 days worth ?
3> I attach a copy of the entry form that needs loading to the calender of events for the BOP / NZ #2 Offshore...

MATTERS ARISING FROM CORRESPONDANCE

1 Discussion:- General view of the committee, that Wayne Mowbray be accepted back into the NZMPBA.

2 Adjustments have been made to the NZMPBA calendar as Steve requested.
Offshore entry form has been loaded onto the web site

2018 NATIONALS

As no Club has indicated an interest there will be no Nationals in 2018

GENERAL BUSINESS

1. RULE BOOK is a shambles and needs sorting especially downloads on web site

Peter has successfully downloaded off web site so Nitro can up date.

2. Electronic Lap counting
Nothing to report from last meeting

3. REMINDER
ALL PETROL BOATS MUST HAVE IGNITION DISABLING DEVICES INSTALLED AND WORKING FROM 1 JANUARY 2018 TO COMPETE AT NZMPBA SANCTIONED REGATTAS AS PER RULE BOOK. (General rules section)

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE COMMITTEE’S ATTENTION THAT A COMPETITOR AT THE WELLINGTON OFFSHORE WHO HAD KILL SWITCH ISSUES , DISCONNECTED HIS IGNITION KILL SWITCH IN ORDER THAT HE COULD CONTINUE RACING.
THIS WAS NOT MADE KNOWN TO THE RACE OFFICIALS UNTIL AFTER THE EVENT.

As this is a health and safety issue and breaking the NZMPBA rules It is the committee’s unanimous decision that in future should any competitor be found guilty of doing this they will lose all points gained at that regatta and as well be stood down for the following two sanctioned regattas on the NZMPBA Calendar for that year.

Nationals venue and date required for 2019 if any club interested!
We need feedback from the general membership whether in fact they want any nationals in the future

Presidents Cup Points
The committee is looking at a minor tweaking of the points scoring system for the offshore series ( with membership input) as the current system disproportionately favours the events in this series for Presidents Cup points.( to be discussed at the next committee meeting.

Offshore rules
A review is pending on a tweak of the rules regarding things that are not being done properly or can be dispensed with at regattas.
