LMPBC is intending to hold an Oval Regatta at Lake Maraetai, Mangakino on the 8th April, 2018 (TBC). The date is still not confirmed as we have 2 possible issues. A swimming pontoon to be removed and maybe weed.
We have approvals from the Taupo District Council and the Waikato Regional Council.
So start thinking of what boat you may want to run on an OVAL course and if time permits, a short offshore race. Predominately the racing will be oval heat racing, one heat of each class, then the next heat till all 4 heats have been completed. A King of the Lake race will then be called from those interested. Offshore racing will then be run.
The entry form will ask entrants to list the boats they would like to race and we will sort the entries into appropriate groups.
This is to be a FUN DAYS RACING, using some of the boats in sheds gathering dust, including present day boats.
GLOW, Petrol, Electric - Mono's, Tunnels/Cats, Hydro's and Scale and Offshore. Something for everyone.

Hi guys. Just a quick update. We are concerned about confirming the date (Council need to pull the dive platform out, which is usually after Easter and weed) We are looking at an alternative date of the 22nd April. This is the day after Rnd 2 of the National Offshore series in Tauranga. So two things here, please don't rush into any travel bookings/holidays and if Tauranga club/members have any issues with racing the same weekend. (Offshore Saturday and Oval on Sunday.) It maybe a better date for out of town members to have two race meets the same weekend giving less travel.

A "2 for 1 deal" for visitors seems like a good opportunity...BOP only have the Offshore sanctioned for the Saturday, so if NZ Assoc see fit to sanction another event for Sunday then thats upto them. I cant speak on behalf of the BOP Club but it seems to me, in this instance, that both clubs and visiting racers are advantaged by this...
