BOP 3 Hour Team Enduro Race
Saturday 30th July 2016

Hi All,

Please find entry form and course layout attached to upcoming event forum

This event is the first of its kind to my knowledge that will be run Saturday 30th July, 2016.

You all need to start thinking about how to construct your most effective team, and start making plans on which boats to have in your group and how they should be prepared, and some race strategy around those. You are encouraged to come up with Team Names just to add to the fun...
We can only accept a maximum of 12 teams as we will be using IRMS to run the event, so first in first served !
The event is open to all NZ Association members, so will be interesting to see what support we get.
In simple terms its a one off non stop 3 hr race, clockwise around the standard BOPMPBC enduro course, using all the normal rules regarding penalties for hitting or missing buoys and hitting the rescue boat etc.
Each team is only allowed one boat on the water at the time, the next boat cannot be launched until the previous boat has been returned to the bank in pit lane.
Each team will be allocated a "board number" which must be displayed on the boat running at all times, or laps will not be counted, you can either swap the board from boat to boat as you go, or have each boat prefitted with the same numbered board. Board numbers will be allocated and advised asap after entries close so you have time to prepare that aspect.
You are to have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 per team, each team is allowed a maximum of 3 boats, they can be any mono or tunnel, electric, nitro or gas power...NO hydros allowed !
The driver must be assisted by a pit person at ALL times.

If you are not going to be racing, we will be looking for volunteers to take care of Race Directing and lap counting, teams are responsible for picking up their own dead boats, so if you can help out with that please let me know.

If this proves to be a success, we may move onto a 6 hr event next time round, with the ultimate goal being a 12 hr event using a transponder system, but for now, lets walk before we run !

Thanks for the idea of this event must go to Bruce Clarke, if you have any questions please contact either Bruce or myself.

Prepare well and good luck !

Remember, "to finish first, first you must finish" !

Thanks and Regards,
Steve T
