🙂 Well here we go again the New Year isn't here yet and yet we are asking you to get your entries in for the first round of the 2016 series of the Southgate Motor Inn Off Shore/Enduro series. As you may or may not know next year sees the demise of all classes with there now being just Open petrol & Nitro. The prize money has also changed with there now being only four prizes. First will take home prizes to the value of $200 second $150 third $100 and fourth $50. As we cannot give out money for prizes, we call it something else. We have also thought of all you boaties in the Wgtn region by staging the first round on your Anniversary weekend so you have time to travel there and back home again. It would be nice to see a big contingent from down there come up and enjoy a days racing. In the meantime have a Merry Christmas & Merry New Year. 😀 Sorry

Well I hope you have all had a very Merry Xmas & Happy New Year. Sorry to harp on but the time has come to get those entries in as there is only 21 days to the first round of the 2016 Southgate Motor Inn Off Shore/Enduro series. The long range weather forecast is for 25 knot winds with a short sharp bumpy chop which will sort the men out from the boys. You are gunna need big powerful boats to negotiate those waters, but then again sometimes the forecaster is wrong and the little fast boats might take the honours. This is going to be a great start to the new season so don't hesitate get your entry in and plan your weekend. If there is enough interest we may arrange a barbie or something on the Sat night to get everyone primed up. Sorry

Hi Brian can you please let me know do you have to run the same boat you start with in your Southgate Series cause the reason I ask is one of your rounds in this event will also be a NZMPBA Offshore which I will running in the P1 this year but was going to do your series with my old offshore boat which is P3 an what will happen when it comes to the NZMPBA Offshore round do my still count with the P1 that I will be using for that round cause I plan on doing all the rounds this year in your series

There has been a couple of queries with regards to using different boats for the National Off Shore series and the Southgate Motor Inn series. As the second round of the SMI series is also a round of the National series I have had requests from some that want to use a different boats in each event. If you want to use a different boat in each event you can, BUTyou must provide an extra pit person who is not racing otherwise we will run out of helpers to run the event. As you will effectively be driving in two heats with two different boats it stands to reason that unless we enforce the rule we would be in a position that we won't have enough manpower to run the event. Also if you so decide that you want to run different boats in the two series it will mean that when you put your entry in you must put two entries in one for each event and it will also mean two entry fees. I hope I have made myself clear on this matter. Have a good one. Sorry

Hi fellow competitors. FORGET everything that I have said previously. After a brief meeting this morning we have decided that you can use the boat in the second round of the SMI series that you are using in the National Off Shore series if it is different to the one that you are using in the SMI series. If this situation arises where competitors are using different boats in the two series you WILL NOT be penalized for having a different boat only in the SMI second round. I know this sounds confusing, but I hope you can make sense of what I am trying to say. Cheers Sorry

Only a few days to go before the 2016 year gets underway with the running of the first round of the Southgate Motor Inn Off Shore/Enduro series. If you haven't got your entries in don't worry we will except late entries. This is going to be a bumper series so make sure you don't miss out. See you all Sunday 24th at Lake Taurikura. Cheers.
