MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES.

Volunteer to prepare in writing a jandal rubber bouy recommendation. MS volunteered and provided the following.

IMPBA
Description and Colors
1. Buoys shall be any objects non-injurious to hulls, such as styrofoam or plastic bottles that float at least 50% out of the water.
2. Buoys must be painted with fluorescent paint. Red or orange is preferred.
3. Sharply contrasting fluorescent green shall be used on the entrance buoys (Number 1 & 4).
4. Buoys must be no less than six or more than twelve inches in diameter and must float a minimum of five inches above the water

NAMBA
Buoys will be any object non-injurious to boat hulls such as Styrofoam or plastic that floats at least 50% out of the water, is clearly visible, brightly coloured (red, orange, or yellow), and securely fastened to their position. In no event will a buoy be less than six inches or more than 12 inches in diameter. Buoys must float a minimum of five inches above the water

Use these descriptions as a basis and develop our own specification and include on website. On going.

GH – suggests taking re-look at penalties for hitting “an announced” dead boat. ? 250 point penalty?

MS moves this problem be considered and a rule book change be included in the 2021 review for member consultation. From June mins

Liability Insurance
JB Reports new insurer can give us a quote in December when out present policy is due for renewal. And will go back to Rothburys for reconsideration of present policy. Ongoing
AGM
JB has booked a room at the Cossie club with projector (Taupo) for the AGM, at $20/hr on the 21st August, 7 pm start. Cossie club does meals so we can have a feed beforehand. Will be advised/reminded at drivers brief.
PC suggested 'committee members' may be able to participate at AGM via skype.

Other on going matters
Membership Survey: Response so far? 30/65 None further as at 9 August. On going.

PC points SS – preparation still onging. - still in progress PC to collate. On going.

BH – since HPM as a NZ supplier has closed down. Should we compile a list of suppliers of RC boat gear, local and overseas and post on website. BH volunteered to gather the info and send to PC for inclusion on website. PC to follow up on what WMPBC are doing with their list and add to list. On going.

PF – does NZMPBA consider applications for financial support (repayable) for development of facilities. In the past $ contributions have been made to clubs in support of holding a Natonals to assist with infrastructure. Recollections among the committee are that such applications have been considered and actioned in the past. North Canterbury Club to prepare an application for consideration. On going.

Discussion about automatic and affordable lap scoring systems. Always a consideration keep a watchful eye if any systems (off the shelf) become available. Ongoing. RC coder and detection loop??? Ongoing

Motion by BH passed at 5 July meeting, for host club (Nats) to be able to apply for an advance of up to $200 for assistance, if required, to defray expenses in holding a Nationals. Text has been added to members handbook. Concluded.

GENERAL BUSINESS

2022 Nationals update.
No significant accommodation in Seddon. Plenty in Blenheim and Ward, a similar distance to Blenheim to the south, has Accommodation. Some possibilities on site.
GH recommends entries close a month before event to allow time to prepare a program with qualifying events.

Rule book review - review Chap 5

PC to tidy up draft and send to committee for final comment and then send out for six week (members) consultation prior to AGM. This provides an opportunity for those at the AGM to contribute more directly.

Any other business

At AGM we would like new blood on Comm, please consider volunteering to be nominated. Four members are continuing so we would like to see at least 4 nominations for committee and higher office.

Taupo Offshore - Hamilton MBC has received a letter from Tūwharetoa Maori Trust Board waiving $250 fee for event since NZMPBA is a not a commercial operation.
