NZMPBA SKYPE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Date 22 March 2020 8pm

PRESENT; Grahame Haines, Marie Haines, John Belworthy, Nigel Wong, Peter Collier, Philip Fowler, Trevor Terry, Murray Smithson, Pieter Lokum.

APOLOGIES;

GENERAL BUSINESS

COVID 19 STRATEGY
We are in a rapidly-evolving environment as New Zealand seeks to slow the spread of Covid-19. In the light of the Government moving to Alert Level 2, we are issuing this reminder that we all need to take steps to slow the spread of the virus.

The best and most up to date advice is on the Government's Covid-19 website and all members are urged to read and follow this. https://covid19.govt.nz/

The level 2 measures particularly relevant to our members include :
• there are restrictions on mass gatherings and events.
• limit non-essential travel around New Zealand, which means cutting non-essential domestic travel to help us track and contain any spread of COVID-19 – every unnecessary movement gives COVID-19 a chance to spread.
• people over 70 years of age, people who have compromised immunity or people who have underlying respiratory conditions stay at home as much as they can

NZMPBA EVENTS
For NZMPBA members and Clubs, this means those who have been planning events should re-consider. There is more guidance here:-
https://covid19.govt.nz/help-and-advice/for-everyone/events-mass-gatherings/
https://covid19.govt.nz/help-and-advice/for-community-groups/community-groups/

Check the NZMPBA web site Calendar for cancellations or postponements.
Event managers need to make the decision if events are to be cancelled or postponed.
If you are cancelling / postponing an event, email the Secretary with your instructions ASAP

In the interim the NZMPBA Committee is RECOMMENDING that sanctioned events scheduled for the next 2 months do not go ahead as planned and either cancel or postpone.to a later date, situation pending at that time.

General Advice
For our older members (over 70) we recommend you follow the Government advice and stay at home as much as you can.

Anyone with any concerns about their health should phone their Doctor.

Above all, be sensible, kind and considerate of others.

Regards NZMPBA Committee.
