Just thinking, how about the association does some official stickers for the top 3 each year? A small way to recognize the efforts and it would be good with official numbers with the year on them for the winners to put on their boats.
In the meantime is there a template for these anyway?

I just went to my friendly sign man and got a heap of NZ1's of various sizes done for my boats for 40 bucks.
It is not compulsory to race with NZ1,2,or 3 on your boats. Its your choice. Ask those who proposed and introduced the NZ 1,2,3 system as to what their intention was with it,

I just thought it would be something the association could do to recognize the effort! If the association isn't doing much to organize competition and recognize the results, what is the point of there being an association for model boaters? It should be there is a standard template for the numbers, and that they are given to 1,2&3 each year.
Who would it be that proposed and introduced it? Why does the association not follow through with these things if it is the top competition? You cannot just say, "oh someone else started it, we don't give a stuff"!
This and all competition and events should be about uniting model boating and growing the sport, not the opposite.

Come on Pres., what vision and plans are there for 2019?
What is going to keep model boaters interested in what the NZMPBA has to offer?

one of the plans is to continue to address some of the dumb stupid rules and classes that have crept into our Association.

Well I'll be honest. More changing rules and classes is not a plan, that is maintenance, and it is not what will increase membership and improve model boating in NZ. BTW you should really take some time to clarify clearly to the membership what it is exactly that you think needs changing. What are these "dumb stupid rules"? Put it out there so that you can get real feedback on what is necessary and what is not.
Also how about working on making a Nationals regatta happen? Don't just say no club wants to host it, it has to be led and run by the committee for it to happen. You also actually have to properly ask clubs for expressions of interest, not just put something in the committee minutes and hope there will be a response!
How about a revamp of the website? Money would be better spent on a new website than maintaining this old one.
How about better relationships with all clubs, helping them to grow and build their memberships, because that is where the association members come from, it is the grassroots of the hobby. Build bridges instead of burning them.
Nitro, as President, you are the one who is leading this association. The outcomes are due to the way you do that, positively or negatively, and sadly the latter is winning!
Don't get upset at me, I said I would be honest, take this stuff onboard and think about the bigger picture.
