It should be easy enough for a simple test. Start your boat, turn off the transmitter. If the engine cuts out then that is what they are wanting, this is also what has been proposed by Bob in the last committee minutes. Some transmitters will do this, some won't, and others can be programmed to.

I haven't been down to look but I understand the lake is looking good, and clean at this stage, so the event is still on. The gates will be open at 7/30.am and after all the formalities and a practice will get racing underway, hopefully by 9/30.am

We will get the entries into two heats then after looking at the attrition rate will see how many finals we will need to run. As is the norm over here we will try to get you a number to keep all day.

We will close entries on Thursday night and will get the fields and info to you.

Regarding the questions on fail safes. Our stance here is, and always has been, that using a coil disabling fail safe system, it must be demonstrated that the motor can be stopped by turning off the transmitter. The boat must be fitted with a coil disabling system and this used to stop the engine.

I hope that clears up any confusion.

For those who worry about such things, I went down to look at Henley. The water level is high but not a lot going in. The lake looked lovely and the water is clear. We are expecting rain before the weekend so should be all good.

The way I see it whether it be your rules or NZMPBA rules with regards to fail safes, if this a sanctioned event then only NZMPBA rules should apply. NZMPBA rules cover everything you are wanting, but you are interpreting them in a different way. Don't be so dogmatic over something that is set in concrete by the NZMPBA. Cheers Sorry
