Hi,

We are getting into the new year here in the Wairarapa and looking forward to a positive year of competition and camaraderie.

Henley Lake (at the time of writing) is still open for public use. There is algae bloom in the rivers feeding the lake so will be interesting to see if we go off the lake and / or for how long. Here's hoping for a long season of boating.

Should be an exciting year with new members and approx 8 new boats on the water. We will be introducing a 'Crackerbox' class, P1, Stock Zenoahs 23cc or 26cc. in due course as the boats get built. This championship to go along with our existing championships of ......
Ticehurst Cup Offshore format racing, E.T.Racing Cup 10 Lap Cat sprint and the Henley Trophy for the 5 lap open oval.

Along with the club championships we will be hosting 2 rounds of the Hi Points Offshore Series, first in July, the second in October. These will be the same successful format as last year with the 120 minutes of racing on a big course. Depending on entry numbers will look at running in conjunction a cat sprint / hydro / mono race/s. Will see how this will go.

It is Club policy that all boats on the water as part of our club will be fitted with electronic failsafes.
Our water is precious to us and we need to be seen taking all practicable steps to keep it safe for the public, other lake uses, wildlife and ourselves.

We are still in the process of looking at building a new club jetty which will be more user friendly than the existing jetty. It has taken along time but have jumped most of the hurdles now, so we can now work on this as a club project.

Along with our racing members we have a great support network of volunteers and helpers which make our racedays run smoothly. Thank you.

Our first club race day of the year will be on the 12th February 2017.
