Transponder system worked very well. The developer is working on a smaller transponder with a weaker signal.

Will continue to work with developer for next iteration and future events.

o Brent Mills has a water proof Ignition kill switch system available approximately cost is NZD 70.

Action;

* Bob to circulate re-revised Offshore Rules

* Bruce to publish information on the website and to committee.

* Change compulsory use of ignition fail-safes for all petrol offshore boats be for January 1st 2017.

* Ignition fail-safes will be compulsory for all petrol boats by January 1st 2018.

7> B Hely Proposals and Remit.

2nd e mail proposals from B Hely.

a. Investigation into Walbro 929 carburettors on Zenoah PUM 260 engines indicates that these will be the standard issue carb with this engine. Specs for the carb are almost identical to that of the currently allowed 257 carb, so in that respect there is neither any identifiable advantage nor disadvantage in allowing 929 carbs.

Action, Bob to change rules to allow the use of the 929 carburettor.

b. Recoil starters vs belt / pulley / remote electric starters for P1 class.

Action – Ensure membership knows that this has not been allowed.

2017 Racing Calendar

2017 Offshore Calendar Policy - One Event per Club per Venue

Feedback received about this policy.

Action – Bob to write an article for Propshaft about future proofing our competition calendar.

Post Script – Taryn advises that this is for a web builder function that is not used or required by us. Committee email discussion agreed not to pay this invoice and discontinue the unused function.

GENERAL BUSINESS

2017 Nationals

BOPMPBC Proposal for format and schedule accepted by the committee. The proposal to split the profits 75%/25% in favour of the BOPMPBC is accepted as a one-time exemption to the usual 50/50 split policy.

Thanks is extended to the steering committee and the BOPMPBC for the effort he has put into making this happen.

Action – Bob to confirm NZMPBA committee approval to proceed and confirm dates.

2017 Calendar – G Haines

Offshores

Wairarapa will run 2 Offshore events, July 16th and October 29th

Wellington will Run February 19th, and November 12th 2017

Hamilton will June 17th, Taupo August 19th, and Rotorua 16th.

Picton Labour weekend.

Other

29th & 30th July 2017 Frostbite regatta

Web Site Administration Fee - B. Clarke

Website is quite costly between hosting fees and additional costs for web admin.

Decision made to do nothing for now as there is another 12 months to run on the current hosting contract.
