4> Health & Safety.
The meeting discussed other issues regarding the current H & S legislation and its impact on what we do, the key aspects identified is that members and visitors at regattas have to be notified of hazards, based on this B Gutsell is to draft a standard template that will be uploaded to the website, so that all regattas advertised have a copy of this generic document available with the entry forms for each regatta. It will act as an acknowledgement by competitors that they have been advised of the various hazards they can expect to face when on site at the event.
B Gutsell is also to draft a template for a site hazard board which identifies all the hazards visitors to an event might face. This all remains a work in progress.
Action - Bob to write up recommended Hazard Board Text for next meeting, and advise clubs that they must provide their own hazard board for each event they run and club day.

8 > Offshore Series Penalty Rules.
No Further Action required
9> Radio Failsafes
Updated Proposed Off Shore rules
• Radio Control systems with an integrated Fail safe must use and demonstrate the operation of the Fail Safe during Scrutineering with the engine running.
o Effective January 1st 2017, all boats protect against zero voltage receiver failure by using an ignition coil disabling system.
o The effectiveness of the Ignition coil disabling system must be demonstrated during scrutineering by turning the receiver off with the engine running.
Action; Bob to Circulate Revised Offshore Rules
10> B Hely Proposals and Remit.
2nd e mail proposals from B Hely.
a. Investigation into Walbro 929 carburettors on Zenoah PUM 260 engines indicates that these will be the standard issue carb with this engine. Specs for the carb are almost identical to that of the currently allowed 257 carb, so in that respect there is neither any identifiable advantage nor disadvantage in allowing 929 carbs.
Action, no feedback has been received against this proposal, therefore rules will be changed to allow the use of the 929 carburettor.
b. Recoil starters vs belt / pulley / remote electric starters for P1 class.
Action based on feedback the committee has voted 4/3 in favour of not changing the starter rule. i.e electric start pulley will remain the secondary form of starting, meaning the recoil start must be left in pace even if unused.
MATTERS ARISING FROM CORRESPONDANCE
P. Andersen Official Complaint
G. Haines to draft a response addressing P Anderson’s concerns, forward to committee for review, then send to P. Anderson once committee has released the letter.
P. Andersen National Proposal
Committee unanimously accepted Tauranga proposal to run the nationals and the Tauranga club are encouraged to forward their proposal to the committee for an alternative format.
W. Thompson – Concern Re Molybdenum coated Pistons in P1 power boats
Leigh Marsden has used a molybdenum coated piston at Masterton race and Taupo. The molybdenum coated piston is not a stock item and is sold by Zenoah as a “Hop-up” item
G. Haines to advise Lee Marsden he will not be allowed to race P1 class unless he has a Standard Aluminium Piston as opposed to the Molybdenum coated piston he has been running.
Note that we will remove the jug at the end of the day’s racing to confirm the piston is correct.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Trevor Emerson- Proposal to introduce course cutting as standard milling proposal as per SUHA and American practice. Committee decided not to go any further with this proposal.
