Might want to check above, Pieter Lokum was running in P1 not P3. See draw above.

Ok Let's try that again, tried to update the table in the original post but wouldn't let me, so I've deleted it and here is the updated table with corrected class and placing for Pieter Lokum and John Belworthy who both got 5th equal not 6th equal; Terry Riddiford and Matt Bindon are now 12th equal, not 13th equal; Mark Graham and Brian hely are now 18th equal, not 19th equal.

I know there were at least two boats that hit the rescue boat and one of them was when I was in the rescue boat of which I reported when I came ashore. I have always been on the understanding that you were disqualified if you hit the rescue boat. Has there been a new set of rules of which I am unaware of? Cheers Sorry.

What do the rules SAY Brian? It says;

If a boat hits a rescue boat or an officially announced dead boat, then the boat
and driver are black-flagged from the water for a period of not less than 20
RACE minutes
I.e. if you hit a rescue boat with 5 minutes to go for the current heat
then you are forced to miss 15 minutes of the next heat as well.
o For heats that are shorter than 20 minutes the penalty time will not
exceed two heats.
o If a Boat hits a rescue boat or an officially announced dead boat twice
in one day then that boat and driver are disqualified from the water for
the rest of the day. (The Race Director has the final say)

Another case of someone having their own 'understanding'of the rules but not actually reading them huh?

In this situation we did not come ashore to report that we had been hit as we were sitting out on the water waiting to rescue broken down boats. But I did stand up in the rescue boat and waved my hands back to shore and reported the incident once back on shore after the race. The driver may or may not of known that he hit the rescue boat, so I don't know how you would penalise someone once the race is completed. In order for this type of incident to be reported immediately, we should be equiped with 2 way radios. This would also serve as a means of communicating with the rescue boat to actually tell them where a disabled boat or a cowl floating in the water is. Anyone who has sat in a rescue and I am assuming that would be just about everyone knows how difficult it is to have eyes looking 360 degrees.

Well surely the driver of the boat and his pitman were aware of it? Or did they think they could get away with it if no one said anything? What about the race director? Others?
The association has two way radios but they are rarely used. Time the organisers picked up their game in these respects. I've said it for a long time now that our boating needs to be a lot less amateur, but it falls on deaf ears!
Good luck, just another reason I'm over all the offshore stuff.

Boats that we knew hit the rescue boat are, and were sin binned for 20 minutes. I'm not aware of anything being missed. If you have a problem please refer it to the committee, you won't achieve anything but a closed thread by putting it on here.

Brian you had your opportunity to raise this issue on Saturday after the racing during prize giving and at the AGM. Doing it this fashion does nothing but make you look like a keyboard warrior.

Oh so what is a forum for Bob? Isn't it to discuss stuff? Who made you sole chief and censer? Or is it you just have an issue with my posting? You have only been deleting posts and closing threads on me! All of a sudden Bob decides he can close threads at will. What was the standard again? Whatever YOU take a disliking to? Don't forget the "committee standards and behaviour" thing was started (by you) for committee members, of which I am not anymore, albeit thanks to your treatment of me! If you want me to take issue at committee level with you keep being the 'keyboard grandmaster'!

the forum is not the place to be bitching about what did or did not happen on the day gone by. It should have been raised on the day with the race director. If the incident got missed too bad. get over it. if you 2 continue to carry on with this spat I will order a time out for both of you on this forum. It does not do anyone any good seeing this sort of crap!
