Yep a great days racing, albeit it didn't go as well as I had wanted either, rogue waves and such! It certainly is a challenging bit of water. It was good to catch up with guys and a big thanks to the Wellington club for the day. Also thanks to Phil Fowler who came up from Christchurch for the day, it was good to finally meet in person. I look forward to catching up and racing again at upcoming regattas during the year.

Only too happy to turn on some challenging conditions too that made the driving part of the deal, laps scores were a little bit down, even considering the slightly longer course length, so it was definitely rougher than 2014.

The results are below, on checking the adding up of the laps on Sunday night, Pieter Lokum who had been initially scored at 90 had actually done 91, so he has been elevated from 2nd to 1st= with Trevor, first time there has been a tie for first, congrats to both Trevor and Pieter. Leigh and Nigel could have won it too except for a heat stoppage, or ignition coil problems and a flip in the final in the deteriorating conditions respectively. Others down the table also had the odd oopsie or two to scuttle their chances and will no doubt be scheming how not to repeat the same in 2016.

Next regatta on 3rd May this is a club round not Nat Series, but any visitors are welcome too. So far we are up to 15 (now 17) entries and entries close Sunday 26th, so get yours in should you want to be part of the action. This time the format is 2 x 15 min heats and 30 min final, 60 min of racing so you may need a little more gas.

For once the weather forecast is looking good for a great days racing, hopefully not too calm.

Gate will be opened at 8:15 am for setting up. A slight hinderance will be the Crazyman triathalon kayakers coming up river around 9pm onwards all through by ~10, and a big crowd of vehicles in the carpark. We will go through the setup process and be ready for open water and racing once the water is clear.

Um only just got home and unpacked. Will tally up on the PC and then post. But can say Trevor Emerson top scored again hotly pursued by Leigh, same finish order in the Cat Scrap too.

The full results now. Great weather and not much wind or rough made for a hot days racing especially in the A final. Trevor had stacked up a commanding lead in the heats and Leigh went for it in the final to try and peg him back but it was not enough. John had a great run in the final with his OD DV and showed that sitting down in a folding chair to drive works for seniors.

Thanks for all those who participated and the many helpers who made it worthwhile.
