I'm after an offshore boat, petrol, stock or P2. I have a limited budget and am looking for something that will be ok for the offshore series and a bit of oval racing. Hey Pete, there was a "big red" on trade me in ChCh last I saw it advertised at $200 you just need rudder, stinger, and an engine which all up would cost you about 800 if you used your own radio. You'd also need to make a cowl for it as well. As far as I now he hasn't sold the boat in ChCh.

One of our local Guys picked up Simon Bunkers brand new apache for the same price, I know Simon had spent a lot more than that on it.

Budget would be $800ish. I know I won't get the flashiest boat for that but a solid runner is ok. I can always repaint.
