General Business,
1 New committee, all working out ok?
It was discussed that heading towards the nationals everything is on track and that we will get a program out of who is doing what for the officials for each event so we are not scrambling to find people.
It was also discussed that there may need to be some new blood after the AGM and many of the current committee will not be going for re election due to various reasons. WM has noted there is a high chance he will be leaving to the States just before Nationals and with Wobblez now in Australia that is two that will not be going for re-election. 3 other members due to work commitment will also not be going for re-election. If people are interested it a great time to talk to a current member to see what we do and what is expected.
2 Remits for AGM, do we have them all, date to be sent out to the members
Have had two come in this month and one has been taken out (Andrew Colquhoun) as his was already in the race rules so no need to go ahead. ST has put in a few and AC is to try and locate them to make sure we still have them from the transition from Secretary’s. AC to locate and get back to committee.
3 Bank a/c’s, trouble transferring to Andrew, sorted?
Finally all sorted now so to infinity and beyond
4 Missing trophy, still to find one
We are still missing one trophy and if this is not located we will replace it due to it being a memorial trophy. If we have not located it by the 17th of March 2013 WM will get another one in Masterton and put it with the other collection and get it engraved. Moved ST, seconded MB
5 Nats update, Association responsibilities, Merchandise,
Wayne had a meeting the other night with the Masterton guys and everything is on track. With the help of the Wellington guys we look to have lots of help and also looking from all the talk around to have a good turn out. The earlier the entries are in the better as we can then start allocating jobs to people and have a better knowledge of time tables. Currently only 3 entries have been received. All the infrastructure is in place just hopping the algal blume goes away.
It was also discussed that competitors need to read the rule book about infringements and engine classes, as there is a bit confusion but is clearly stated in the rule book. There will be people checking out engines and boats at nationals and if you are deemed to have raced a illegal boat you will be disqualified.
6 Cup and presentation of certificates for 2012 Off Shore Series.
Presentation of certificates and cups will be held at the first offshore in Wellington on the Saturday 17th the night of the meal
7 Consider Andrew’s Suggestions re Offshore etc.
Andrew has suggested we have a annual offshore event where a national champion in class and overall is crowned. This is not a series champion as we currently have this is an event champion. We can share this around from event to event each year so it gets spread around. Why would you do this? We it gives people who enjoy the offshore a one off event each year to go to where there may usually be 15 boats competing well this may attract 30. I know from the South Island I would drive up north for the chance to be a NZ champion in my class but its not possible with a series as most are run in the North Island and it would be just too expensive. We had a good discussion on this and it is suggest that AC put a remit in and see what the association thinks.
8 IRMS
ST has got the version 23 for IRM to implement but from discussion with Glenn it seems no different than what we currently have. BG said that he thinks the current version is 23 so ST will clarify that. If it isn’t we have decided that we stick with what we have as its too close to Nationals to be playing around with it.
With nothing else to discuss the meeting was closed at 9.23pm.
Next meeting will be held Monday the 25th of February at 8pm
