Hi guys,
I realise that it is still 2 months to the AGM which will be held at Masterton in conjunction with the Nats.
I am heading off to the States to work for 7 or so months, (well, at this stage anyway,) so will not be available to put my name in the hat for the committee for the next term.
Others on the committee with me have also indicated that due to work committments and other reasons they will also be withdrawing their names.
'There is nothing more constant than change.'
This is a great opportunity to get involved and put your ideas forward. This is also a chance for some of our newer members to join in, we need this involvement to move the Association forward. Model power boating is advancing as a hobby very quickly these days, expertise is growing and we need your knowledge to form and shape our future.
I personally have enjoyed my stay on the Committee, and have had the opportunity to work with, and also to get to know, those with me. This was an opportunity I wouldn't have had otherwise and I'm sure anyone joining us would enjoy the same benefits.
At the committee meeting we decided to put what was happening out to the members so it can be discussed. Good open dialogue is all ways healthy, so do talk amongst your friends, discuss who amongst you would want to be involved or others you would like to see on the committee. The last thing we want are accusations of 'dealings' or 'polity'. This does not do any of us any favours.
The Nationals are shaping up to be a really good event, so do come along to the AGM and get involved, or use the proxy vote system.
Regards,
Wayne Mowbray
