For the non-facebookers, Fantastic Day at Taupo Saturday, congratulations to Peter collier (C2) for taking out another round, and to Matt Bindon (C1) for Second and Terry Riddiford (P2) with Third for the Day. Flat conditions and 19 entries made for some great racing. Pictures are coming, look out for the full report in the next propshaft.

Big Red didn't have such a great day, she took a dunk in the first heat, ran well to take out the second heat, then refused to start for the third and final heat. Got her stripped down at home and found Piston ring so soft it bent and stayed bent when removed from the piston, it was jammed in the piston ring groove on the exhaust port side of piston! Aside from that, the shaft had two broken strands, and the red coil insulation was broken on the red wire which was down to it's last dozen or so strands. Either way we weren't going to finish that third race even if we had started it! It looks like there's a restriction in the engine water pickup on the rudder, so I gues she ran hot enough to do the damage but not enough to sieze. Jug and piston are fine apart from that.

Aside from my own foibles, a great day was had by all with some great racing and awesome weather conditions. Thanks to all those who came and supported the event for its 5th year running.

Also a big thanks to Dave Liddle for brining his own resuce boat and manning it for the full day along with those who jumped in with hime during the day and those who helped with Lap counting. Without people like yourselves we can't run these events.
