Hi,
Time is counting down quickly now. We have decided to move the venue from what is known as the main jetty at Henley Lake to our own venue which is at the northern end of the lake, (entry off Te Ore Ore Road which is the main road out to Castlepoint and Riversdale. This is our designated area and is where we hold our club days etc. The lake is only a few minutes from the centre of Masterton. We have our new drivers stand in place which gives an excellent view over the course and have good hot pit and cold pit areas. With the support of the local council we have built diversionery pathways to keep the public out of the racing area but which still gives good public viewing. Plenty of car parking.
It is all coming together nicely for us, and the infrastructure is mostly in place.
Please give some thought to getting your entries in, and let us know whether coming to the dinner etc.
We have billeting available here for those who want it and will meet the ferries from the South Island if required. Terry has been organising accomodation for those who want it at a motel (The Discovery Motel) so give him a call if you want more info on this (06) 377 2562.
The entry form shows the event running on the Monday of Labour Weekend, but we have changed this to a two day event on the Saturday and Sunday which allows time to relax over dinner on the Sunday night and for travelling home on the Monday.
We are all hopeing for fine weather, a good turnout, and for people to come and join us to have a good weekends racing.
Have a look on Youtube, Wairarapa RC Boats 2012. This was taken at our day last Sunday (29th July)
Any queries please give us a call,
Regards,
Wairarapa Model Power Boat Club.
