Tony Rutlege and John Belworthy run own designs that perform very well. Mine is a ABS preformed kit by Garry Finlayson of the USA I bought from High Performance Models. There are very few glass options but Horracing.com and HobbyKing.com sell a 28" hull.
H.K also sell inexpensive motors like the Turnigy S3650 @ 3300kvm. Tony and I have Feigao 3650 3440kv bought from Himodel.com while John runs a Leopard 3650 4400kv. The high kvs motors produce more power@ higher revs and amps.
Turnigy marine escs are pretty good and there is a large range to choose from. For this class 60amps+ relative to the motor's amp limit.
Props are around 35mm to 40mm depending on kv and amp limits of your motor.
Lipo batteries probably need to be in the region of 4500mah+ capacity @ 35c+. The higher c rating means how well the battery copes supplying current to the motor under load.
My offshore is an R2 Godspeed U 32" cat bought from FoamWorks NZ.It is powered by a Turnigy X3674 !900kv.
I run 2 lipos in parallel, one in each sponson. The Prop is around the 44mm mark. Octura style X445s work quite well. Electrics can benefit from slightly less blade area to reduce amp loads and increase run times.

Hi Chookie, I'm just finishing an N2 hydro. I've built off 1/16 plans by Gary Finlay of the Ted Jones Classic (free download). Power is a turnigy 3980kv motor, batts are 2S 5000mah 40C turnigy and probably a T120 esc. Prop is a x632. I will do a build thread on the forum soon. Should have it in the water in a week or two.
