A few of us here in Wellington are getting keen on the N2 entry level electric hydro class. It's a cheap and easy way into hydro racing.
We have 2 already built in the club and mine is nearly finished. A 4th could be ready in short time with sum persuasion.
If there was enough interest this could become a class raced at the coming North Island Champs and other events.
Give it some thought and if there are any question I would be pleased to help if I can.

I also have a 800mm electric catamaran running 4 cells and 14.8 volts to suit the offshore class and hope some others might take up the
challenge too.

Check out the class rules and specifications.

Cheers Grasshopper

I'm failry sure that as a backup there should be an open electric event at the NI champs at the very least. If you have 4 boats in the N2 class then I don't see any reason why that shouldn't run at the NI champs.

The only issue for the NI champs is that it's normally difficult to get people to run up on the 3rd day of a 3 day weekend so they're trying to keep the event confined within 2 days. So that would be the only challenge that I can see to being able to run this class.

When would you know that you'll have 4 boats?

Hi,

We already have Open Electric on the programme, and will certainly look at N2 if there is enough interest. Keen to promote electric.
